The Live Loud Project presents “BRINGING THE HEAT!!”, an extraordinary evening of urban culture and live entertainment; an all ages event featuring  DJs, break-dancing, rap cyphers and battles, group performances, live painting, video screen, tons of give-aways and prizes … and all for a good cause!  100% of the proceeds are being donated to The Elizabeth Fry Society G.A.P. (Grocery Assistance Program).   The venue is being donated by The Mansion Nightclub in Barrie, and will all take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 8pm until Midnight.

The Live Loud Project is a non-profit community arts initiative with support from The Ontario Arts Council that began as a partnership with The YMCA Youth Quest Program to bring free music workshops to help youth aged 15 – 29.  The project has since grown and now aims to provide free arts education, workshops, open mic sessions, and interactive cultural events to the community with the hopes that the local youth will gain new perspective, and an outlet to express themselves.

Christina Seemann, Project Coordinator for The Live Loud Project, has special reasons to help The Elizabeth Fry Society G.A.P. fill their shelves… she has used their services in the past.  “When Crystal Munshaw, employee of the G.A.P., approached me about their need for support, I didn’t hesitate.  The G.A.P. assisted me with food and support in a time of need.  You just never know when you might need to use a service like that.  They helped me get back on my feet, and I’m happy to give back, and rally support for such a good cause.”

The Grocery Assistance Program (G.A.P.) is a community program and anyone who is in need is able to use their services. Almost 11,000 people benefit from their services annually, with food that was donated solely by the community. If it wasn’t for community food drives and donations, the Grocery Assistance Program would not be able to operate.
